Planning a Bumper Car Birthday Party

nickbounceli

A bumper car birthday party is a unique celebration idea that your child and their friends will be sure to remember. As they zoom around the bumper car arena, crashing into one another amidst whirling lights and fun, they'll be laughing and having a blast. Are you thinking about a bumper car birthday party for your child? Make sure you're prepared with these simple steps from Bounce! Family Entertainment Center.

Choosing a Venue

Selecting the right venue is a key part of planning your child's birthday party. You want a venue that is open during the hours you're planning the party and that can accommodate the number of children that you're planning to have attend the party. Furthermore, look for a venue that is set up to handle birthday parties and can take some of the party planning off your plate.

Selecting a Date and Time

Work with the venue to select a date and time that's right for your child and family, as well as the venue's schedule. Consider your guests, too. If you aren't planning to serve food, don't schedule the party during traditional mealtimes.

Sending Out Invitations

Try to send out invitations at least 2 weeks before the date of the party. If you send them out too late, you may find that your guests already have plans. Ask for RSVPs so that you can make appropriate plans with the venue. Make a note of whether you want to include siblings on the invitations.

Planning Activities

Depending on the type of party you want to throw and how long the kids will be there, you may want to plan other activities to go along with the bumper cars. At Bounce! Family Entertainment Center, we offer a variety of other activities, including options like Trampoline Dodgeball, Laser Tag, or simply taking the kids over to the arcade to play a few games.

Try to choose a variety of activities that will be fun for everyone on the guest list. Keep the kids' ages in mind as you make your plans. At the same time, talk to the venue to determine whether you have allocated enough time to each activity. Make sure you think ahead for things like cake or ice cream, food, or opening presents.

Planning for Food and Drinks

Make sure you know your venue's policy about food and drinks. While some venues will allow you to bring in your own food, others want you to use on-site options. How much food you need will depend on several factors. Consider:

  • Will your party occur over a mealtime? If so, you will need to make sure that you provide adequate food for your guests.

  • Do you want to serve more than cake and ice cream for snacks? What about savory options?

  • How many guests are you having?

  • Do you want to serve food to any siblings or family members that are there with the kids, or just the kids invited to the party?

In addition to other considerations, make sure you ask ahead of time about any food allergies or sensitivities. While you don't have to change all of your plans to accommodate a child with a food allergy, notifying their parents ahead of time will allow them to make any needed substitutions.
